"As a singing teacher in key stage one, I was able to use “What’s in Lindy’s Bag” to enhance my repertoire with older children (aged between 5 and 7) using some of the songs. One in particular - 'Sunshine' was a big hit with the children. I was able to develop it from being a song by creating movement and then adding painted costumes and letting individual children choose to be the sun, wind, rain or rainbow. We then performed it very successfully in our summer concert and the parents loved it. Thank you Lindy" Kate (A.G.S.M. P.C.S ) - Class music specialist/singing teacher “ A great resource for non specialist teachers who want to be involved in teaching music and movement. Develops essential co-ordination skills” Maisie. Year 2 teacher. London
“ I love using this cd to calm the children and settle them on the carpet before story time” Fee. nursery teacher. London
“I’ve been a music specialist for twenty years and found I could adapt this cd from movement to singing classes quite easily for key stage 1. Lovely to have fresh ideas to work with, which combine different styles and imaginative content.” Kate. Primary School Music Specialist. London "Thank you very much for my brilliant CD. I love "What's in Lindy's Bag". I enjoy joining in and singing along so much. I will tell my friends about it too." Tommy. Age 4. Oxford
"I love that the directions are clear, and that the CD doesn't play down or patronise the children, yet its sophisticated and Tommy loves doing it. I love the piano at the end of Colours." Alexandra. Tommy's mum. Oxford
"A great experience, I will be looking up the website for more ideas. Charlie really enjoyed himself." Charlie's mum. Nursery. Birmingham
"Lovely session, Lindy got all of the children very involved. My daughter loved all the different toys for the different songs. Very imaginative." Lola's mum. Nursery. Birmingham
"This CD is a gift for any parent or nursery teacher. Simple movement, action and imaginative activities all feature throughout this collection of catchy tunes. The use of small instruments and props encourages young children to work in structured, informal and imaginative ways. Topics featured are perfect for the world of the small child and the immediate world around them and have clearly been put together by someone who has first hand experience" Chris Taylor: Early Years Specialist, Hackney Music Service 1998 - 2009 |
